Epic Records and The Estate of Michael Jackson announced today that “A Place With No Name” – the second single from the ‘XSCAPE’ album – will be unveiled in a special world-first Twitter premiere.

At 10PM ET (U.S.) on Wednesday, August 13 the “A Place With No Name” music video, directed by Samuel Bayer – whose credits include Nirvana and The Rolling Stones – will be tweeted through the official Michael Jackson Twitter account allowing the Twitterverse to be able to view the video within a tweet. The video will also be shown simultaneously on the Sony screen in New York City’s Times Square.

A preview of the video will make its TV debut on the special Michael Jackson-themed episode of FOX’s So You Think You Can Dance broadcast that same evening from 8-10PM ET. The show will open with a Top 8 group performance featuring “A Place With No Name” choreographed by Travis Payne, who worked as both back-up dancer and choreographer for Jackson during his career.

So You Think You Can Dance will also feature the Top 8 contestants competing with new all-star partners. Each performance will feature a different Michael Jackson song, including some of Jackson’s biggest hits as well as songs from the ‘XSCAPE’ album.

“The beautifully shot short film has been created by following Michael’s overall vision for short films which tell the song’s story, in this case, of a man enticed into a magical “place” by a mysterious woman,” said Epic Records and The Estate of Michael Jackson in a statement released today.

The video will reportedly include vaulted outtakes and behind-the-scenes footage of Jackson that was originally shot during the production for his 1992 “In The Closet” short film.
